Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool requires gender, date of birth, self-reported health level, tobacco use, coverage amount and term length. These six pieces of information are sufficient for carriers to provide rate quotes. Your name, address and detailed health history are collected only if you decide to proceed with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The prices displayed are what each carrier quotes for the health class you selected. Your actual premium is determined by the carrier during underwriting, which may confirm, improve or adjust the class. This site provides estimates only; nothing here constitutes an offer of insurance or a guarantee of price or approval.
What happens when I click Apply?
Selecting a carrier takes you into a secure application powered by the carriers' platform, prefilled with your answers. You provide your name and the information underwriting requires. You can pause and return later, and you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129), handles the application.
Will I need a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier, the amount you request and your health answers. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants within certain age and amount limits, reaching a decision without requiring a paramedical exam. Each quote shows whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that specific product.
Is a longer term better?
A term should align with the period when your dependents would face financial hardship from your death: a mortgage, children's years, or a business obligation. Longer terms lock in a lower rate for more years but cost more per month. The quote tool allows you to compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year options from all carriers simultaneously.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not capture contact information, we do not sell or share visitor data, and we use cookieless measurement. Visit the privacy page for a complete accounting of what information is collected and which parties collect it.
